MRS. SHANTA P. CHITTY

SHANTA embarked on her final journey on Monday, 25th December 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Gritakumar E. Chitty (“Kumar”) and the doting mother of Shonine Wijayanayake (nee (‘hilly) and Gitendra E. Chitty. She was also the proud mother-in-law of Shehan Wijayanayake and Sadhana Vikrantha. shanta was the daughter of Rene and Benjamin Manohar David of Colombo and Pune, respectively. She was the sister of the late Priyadev, sister-in-law of Rapti, Nadine, Yasmin, the late Indira, Chris, and the late Ajit. She leaves behind scores of friends and colleagues from her days at Ladies College and Aquinas College as well as from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the United Nations. A private funeral service for friends and family will be held at the Restspect funeral home on Wednesday, 27th December 2023 at 11.30 am, performed by Father Melvin, formerly of Christ Church, Gaffe Face.
