MR. SAVERIMUTHU BENEDICT JOSEPH LABRE

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benedict Joseph Labre, Retired Assistant Superintendent of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, and father of Leonard Ananthan, an alumnus of Union College (83 O/L, 86 A/L). Born in Karampon, Sri Lanka, Benedict lived in Mallakam, Colombo, and Montreal, Canada.He was the loving son of the late Saverimuthu and Annammah, Benedict was a devoted husband of Nirmalasothy (Baby), And a dearly loved father of Leonard Ananthan (Union College alumnus 83 O/L, 86 A/L, Norway), Nithiyananthy (Montreal), and Leena (Toronto), He was also a beloved father-in-law of Justin Robert, Kala Varshani, and Terrence Romesh, And a cherished grandfather of Sanjiv, Jennifer, Jonathan, Trisha, and Annika, Benedict was the loving brother of the late Charles Fongalland and Eugine Robert.
