On May 31 st , 2026, Dr. Kanapathippillai Anandakumaran passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.He is survived by his beloved family: his wife of 44 years, Sitkala Yalini (née Vaithialingam), son in law of the late Eswary and Vaithialingam, his children Abirami (Rohan), Priya Nivashini (JP), his cherished grandchildren Krishanth, Aarya and Neena, and his siblings Amirthanandan (Saratha), Sivakumaran (Vijayalakshmy), Kamalambikai (Dr. Thavaneswaran), and Arulambikai (Dr. Pathmasrirengan), and along with countless extended family members and dear friends.Anandakumaran was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka on February 25, 1951, to parents Kanapathippillai and Maheswary. He grew up in Jaffna, Sri Lanka alongside his four siblings and many cousins, forming lifelong bonds that he cherished deeply.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful healthcare workers, as well as family and friends, who provided unwavering support over the past year.
