FERREIRA – MELVILLE “MELO” BERNARD (Sri Lanka Navy) passed away peacefully in Colombo on 6th August 2026. Beloved ex-husband of late Maureen (nee Jansen) and Mignonne Ferreira (nee Vangunster), brother of the late siblings Dagmar, Doreen, Maxwell, Merril, June and Douglas, loving father of Jeremy (Australia), Judy (Australia), Marlon (USA) and Ralston, cherished grandfather of Darren, Deandra, Christian, Dwayne, Jayden and Jonathan, father-in-law of Wendy Packeer. Remains will lie at A.F. Raymond’s Funeral Parlour on Tuesday, 11th August from 10.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10.00 a.m. until the funeral service held at the parlour, at 3.00 p.m. Cortege leaves at 3.30 p.m. for burial at 4.30 p.m. at Mount Lavinia Cemetery.
