- About funerals.lk
Placing a notice on funerals.lk is very easy. But for those who really want a step by step guide on how to do so, here is what you need to do.
STEP 1
- Login using your user name and password. If you have not registered yet, learn how to register here.
- Alternately, you can login with your facebook account or google account.
STEP 2
- Once you log in, you will be taken to your “My Account” page which is a dashboard where you can see all your notices and your information.
- Simply click on “Place a notice” to proceed.
STEP 3
- You will be prompted to select various notice types & categories here.
- Select the appropriate notice type and categories that are relevant to you.
- You can select a religion if you wish or select “No Religion” or “Other Religion” based on your preference. This helps us display your notice in special pages as well.
- Once this is done, you will be taken to another screen with more options.
STEP 4
- In the title field, you should enter the name of the person whom the obituary, tribute or remembrance is for.
- Under Funeral Status, you can select “Pending” if the funeral is in the future or “Completed” if the funeral is over, but you still want to place an obituary.
- Add the date and time of the funeral and the time the cortege will leave for the crematorium or cemetery,
STEP 5
- Add the main description for your notice. Remember that you have up to 500 characters for this.
- Under images, select a nice image of the person, ideally a close up of the face and landscape in orientation. The image should be no more than 1 MB in size.
STEP 6
- Indicate which province the notice is relevant for or select overseas if the notice is for some one who is overseas. You will be prompted with a list of countries if selected.
- Add the address, phone number and a whatsapp number. (We will not be divulging this information in the notice)
- Accept the terms & conditions (You can read through them should you wish)
- Submit the notice by clicking the button.
- Your notice will be sent to us for review. We will review it and publish it in 2 hours or the following day morning if the notice was published after 6.00pm.
- An email would be sent to you once published and also once it is live on the site.
- You will be diverted back to the “My Account” page where you would be able to edit and/or promote the notice. We encourage you to promote the notice so that it keeps getting refreshed and would come to the top of the notices daily.
