With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. George Russell Layton Bartholomeusz, Teacher, Legendary Organist, Choir Master, and Precentor of the Chapel of the Transfiguration at S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, on Tuesday 28th May, 2024. Beloved son of the late George and Ethel Bartholomeusz, and cherished brother of the late Christopher, Felix and I leather Soertsz (Australia). Brother-in-law of Priyanthi, uncle of Gregory and Chantha, Trisha, Sean and Sachithra and grand uncle of Alana and Shevan. Mr. Bartholomeusz’s remains will lie at The Chapel of the Transfiguration, S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia on Thursday, 30th May from 3 PM to 9 PM and Friday, 31st May from 9 AM onwards. Service of Thanksgiving and Commendation will he held at 3 PM on Friday, 31st May. The cortege will leave at 4.30 pm for cremation at The Mount Lavinia Cemetery at 5 PM.
