LASANTHA – MARTINUS. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lasantha Martinus on 7th October 2025 in New Zealand. He was the beloved husband of Racheal Martinus nee Budd, a much loved father of Shani Martinus, Kalum Martinus and Adin and Kate Martinus, Lasantha was born on 17th March 1959 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to Stella Martinus and late Dr. George Martinus, cherished brother of Ramanee and Tissa Perera, Heshan and Catherine Martinus, Mangala Martinus, Gamini and Anne Martinus, son-in-law of Late George Budd and Maureen Budd, brother-in-law of Stephen, Gregory, Yanqing and late Nicholas and Julian. A Funeral service to celebrate Lasantha’s life will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 40 High Street Greymouth New Zealand on 14th October 2025 at 11.00 a.
