Mr. Gnanasooriyar Gnanapragasam  was born in Kottady Jaffna and lived in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Næstved, Denmark, London, United Kingdom and passed away peacefully on Sunday 29th May 2022 in London, UK after his battle with MSA.
 
He was the eldest son of late Gnanapragasam and late Jeyalakshmi,
 
He was the son-in-law of the late Somasundram, late Chellammah and Kanakambigai,
 
Husband of Bawane(Vasantha),
 
Father of Karthipan(Gajan), Kowshini, Kowsihan and Gnanatheepan,
 
Brother of Vijayagnanam(Mohana) and Manohari (Vathana- Ruth) and Arjuna,

Brother in law of Varatharajan, Jeyasingham, Rohini, Thavayogan, late Kamalanathan, late Loganathan, Kulanathan, Meenalogini, Kanaganathan, Ambika, Linganathan, Rajini, Rasathi,
