Much loved son of the late Wilfred Panditharatne Wijesundera and the late Soma Samarasinghe,​ son-in-law of the late Ashoka Yatawara and the late Rukmani Yatawara (nee Hewawissa),​ much loved brother of late Indra,​ late Dr. Chakra Wijesundera and Prabo,​ brother-in-Law of Dr. Bandu Seneviratne,​ Anoma Wijesundera,​ Arjuna and Lakmalie Yatawara,​ Nimalka and Chandra Yatawara.
