DR. LAKSIRI ANURA GOONEWARDENE passed away peacefully to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday 25th May 2026, in Edmonton Alberta. Devoted husband of Rohini, loving father to Roshanth and Susie; Rajeeve and Naomi; and Esther and Shawn. A treasured grandfather to Joshua, Jacob, Michael, Jadon, Eli, Gabriel, Abigail and Seth. A loving son of late Asoka and Freda, and a caring and a much-loved brother to Indraneela and B.R.O. (Oclen). He will be remembered with deep respect and abiding affection by his relatives, friends, colleagues and the many whose lives and careers he touched. Funeral service will be on Saturday 6th June, at 11.30 a.m. (MST) at Calvary Community Church (NW, Edmonton AB). Committal will follow at 3.30 p.m. at South Haven Cemetery (5004 Meridian Street NW, Edmonton).
