Gunawardena – Oscar – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Oscar Gunawardena, (retired teacher of Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya), beloved husband of Sriya, and cherished brother of Iris(late), Doreen, and Padma (Shani)(late). Devoted father of Duminda (late), Padmika, Saman, and Samantha (late). Loving father-in-law of Lakshman, Lalith, and Shamila. Adored grandfather of Sanura, Visura, Haswin, Asini, Isini, Binuth, and Sukitha, and treasured great-grandfather of Talia. Remains will lie at Jayaratne Funeral Parlour, Borella, on Tuesday, 15th July until 2.00 PM, after which the body will be respectfully handed over to the Colombo Medical College, in accordance with his wishes. Fondly remembered by his family, friends, and generations of students whose lives he touched with his kindness.
