MR. SINGARAJAH SAMARASINGAM – Former Tea Research Officer of the Tea Research Institute, Thalawakelle, passed away on 11th February 2026. He also served as a Group Correspondent for Thalawakelle for the Lake House newspapers during the mid-1980s. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mrs. S. Jayalakshmi, and their children: Dr. Arulselvan, Ms. Kalaiselvi, Mr. Jayasingham (Engineer – USA), Mr. Jayakanthan (Engineer), and Ms. Kaladevi (Australia). His remains will lie at Mahinda Funeral Parlour, Mount Lavinia on 15th February 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on 16th February 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Final religious rites will commence thereafter. The cremation will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Galkissa Hindu Cemetery Crematorium
